The Elite Experience weekend started with the check-in at the Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom (from September 2018: SO/ Vienna) and a phenomenal Get Together in the restaurant the LOFT, situated on 18th floor of this unique hotel where the members spent a two nights stay.
After a relaxed sunny Saturday morning with a delicious breakfast and individual time spent in the city of Vienna, the official program started at 2:30pm. A historical Viennese tram from past decades took the guests along the most beautiful boulevard “Ringstrasse” and its palaces, monuments and ancient buildings from different architectural styles, also lining the "display window" of the former Danube monarchy. The members enjoyed canapés and refreshing drinks during the tour and had of course time for pictures during photo stops.
Next highlight was St. Stephens’ Cathedral, the city’s landmark. A tour guide explained architecture and history of Austria’s most famous gothic building before it was time to “climb high”: 130 steps lead to the roof gutter of the Cathedral that opened stunning views! Having the characteristic colored tiles of the roof in the back, the Le Club AccorHotels members enjoyed unbelievable and private-seeming views of Vienna’s historic center. Back in the rooftruss it was time for Petit Fours and Viennese ice coffee as well as for original Austrian entertainment. The famous comedian Gerry Seidl delighted with his Viennese dodges and humor.
Horse-drawn carriages awaited the guests to start the second part of the day. The ride ended at the Art History Museum of Vienna, rented exclusively for the Elite Experience and the perfect location to spend a memorable “night at the museum”. After the aperitif and soft piano music in this breathtaking building, the members enjoyed an interactive tour through the art chamber with living artworks, artists, fine music and ballerinas. The illuminated domed hall and its exhibition “Stairway to Klimt” served as the location for an exquisite dinner. The guests’ enthusiasm was just perfect with one last spectacular highlight of the evening: A private concert of the Norwegian pop singer Maria Mena! Her breathtaking performance and the well-known songs “Just hold me” and “All this time” made magic moments come true.
At around 11:30 pm a vintage bus took the guests back to the Sofitel. After a refreshing shower and extensive Sunday breakfast time had come to return home, taking back incredible memorable moments for a lifetime, which money cannot buy and which are reserved only for members of Le Club AccorHotels.
